Winter Wonderfest Chicago Style

Writer's picture: ErickaEricka

Christmas in Chicago is a magical time. I know, many people probably say that about their city however, if you here during the holidays you know it's true. There is something to be

said about the giant Christmas tree that greets you at the intersection of Michigan Ave and Washington. Perhaps it's also the beautifully lit Macy’s window displays or the ice skating rink at Maggie Daley Park. Even better, it's the beauty of the Giant Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier, lighting up the Northern section of the city’s skyline. All of this is sheer beauty!

Now, you may be saying, yeah that's all beautiful but what about the cold weather? How can I enjoy the city’s beauty but have fun? Well my friends, you are in luck!

Fifth Third Bank Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier is the Fun your family needs this holiday season! It’s 170,000 square feet of attractions and excitement. This event is fun for your entire family, entertaining you with rides, activities and endless instagrammable moments!

My family took on the event it was a great time! With kiddos ranging from 15 years old to 8 months old, I was able to enjoy an activity with all of them. First, lets address food! There's tacos, spirits and coffee (of course there are other foods but I know these three get mamas excited!). While we enjoyed rides, bounce houses, mega inflatable slides, we also experienced ice skating with my 2 year old and my husband for the first time...EVER ( IT WAS HILARIOUSLY FUN!).

My tween and I enjoyed rides (The Cliff Hanger & Zero Gravity), my toddler, tween and infant took a train ride on the Arctic Express, my husband and I battled it out on the Dashers Crashers bumper cars and finally, we ended the evening by winding down on the Kringle Carousel with my infant babbling along and it was the perfect way to end all of the eventful evening.
