Gift Guide 2019: Children

Gift buying for children is all about popularity, so it seems. Kiddos want toys that mimic the popular characters they have seen on television, YouTube or in books all year. This actually makes things easier for parents. I believe we should have a good balance of what we buy so that we aren't buying CRAP that they will have no interest in by Christmas dinner. This year, shop differently and buy the things that you KNOW the kids are interested in and not the toys WE want badly (You know how it is, we are more excited than they are.), it will save you time and money.

Baby Shark - This has been the year of the shark! From the Youtube videos, books and Halloween costumes. This year for Christmas snag ANYTHING Baby Shark and I am sure you will win the kid over.

Frozen - Elsa is back so there is no need to let go the idea of buying more Elsa toys and clothes. Any Elsa Dolls are the way to go.

No Mess Crayola Fun - Crayola has a line of “No mess” arts and crafts. This is perfect for little kids that make big messes.

Unicorn - This has also been the year of the unicorn. Gift your kiddo with a Unicorn figurine with a mane that can be combed and styled.

Baby Alive - This doll has been popular since my mom was a little girl. It's the doll that eats and poop, and for some reason that makes kiddos excited! Add this to your list.

Doll House - The Fisher-Price Loving Family Dollhouse is the way to go. The pieces are favorable and not too tedious to create.

Nintendo Switch - Is your child a gamer? The Nintendo Switch may be the handheld game for them.

Toy Story - To infinity and beyond! That line never gets old and neither does the movie and all of the cool toys associated with it. This year, to no surprise Toy Story characters, were popular for Halloween and are for Christmas! Any Toy Story item added to your list will make your child happy.

Play Toys are fun however, we do want to make sure the kids are learning something along the way. Below is a list of toys that encourage STEAM learning.

Mirari My Story Maker - The icons allow kids to create a story by pressing the icons they choose. Think of this like coding.

Squishy Human Body - Its never too early for children to learn body organs and its functionality. This game has 21 removable body parts for children to examine and explore.

GeoSafari Microscope - Talking microscope with 60 images for children to examine and learn about. This is a great way to introduce your little scientist to learning about microscopic science.

Kano Computer Kit - Do you think you have an engineer on your hands? Introduce your child to learning how to build a computer. This kit provides you with everything you need to build your very own computer.
