I Ditched Resolutions: Inside Scoop On My Goals

I didn’t make any resolutions this year. I didn't want to feel confined by them. To be honest, I don’t want to be held accountable for my own expectations (I am hard on myself), primarily because I don’t want to disappoint myself. I prefer to set goals instead of creating fictitious expectations that I must achieve by the end of the year, only for 6 months to roll around and I am trying to play catch up so that I can make good on a promise I made to myself because its suppose to validate how serious I am about taking care of business. Nah, I’m good. They don’t work for me BUT I am not against them because I am all for doing what you need to do to make things happen for you and your space. However, don’t confuse this with not having any goals because those I do have and I am going to share them with you now!

  1. Publish Downloadable Content - I’d like to have content that moms can use as a go to piece of literature that is valuable and reaches them in a way a single blog post may not.

  2. Better Control of my health - This is an evolutionary process and contrary to that age challenge, I have seen what age has and is doing to me. This does not mean I am going to be a fitness guru but it does mean I will be more cognizant of choices that I can make to do better.

  3. Speaking Engagements - I would love be involved with speaking on panels and sharing my wisdom in an effort to reach many mothers of all walks of life.

  4. Grooming More - As a SAHM of a large bunch (5 kids) I can get neglectful of me. I am looking to continue to maintain my mani pedi appointments this year and include better care of my tresses.

  5. Travel More and Explore - No, this may not include international flights, I don’t need that to validate my desire to travel. However, I do want to go more places and see more things and bring my children along for the ride.

  6. Invite Guest Bloggers to share their story on my blog - I think sharing the point of views of other mothers to my audience is valuable. It is not only encouraging to my readers but it will also help me grow and give me perspective, I love to learn.

  7. Motherhood Hotline - This just launched yesterday and I am pretty stoked about it! I am looking forward to engaging with more moms and being a resource to them. This thought was birthed from a group of AWESOME mothers that I am blessed to know. These women have reached out to me as a valuable resource for their motherhood questions and I feel so blessed that they trust me and my wisdom the way they do. TEXT: (561) THE - MRS2 I will respond (just be patient, I may be nursing)!

  8. Launch a business venture - Currently, I have a couple business ventures on the table one with my husband and the other solo and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for them! I get chills just thinking about it.

  9. Share more of me with my audience - I share a lot but there are some layers that I am going to dig into that may shock you, (meeting my father for the first time, only to find out I met with the wrong guy, difficulties I currently have with being a stepparent, my feelings about my daughters father getting married, relationships with in-laws and so much more...Yes, I am going there!) I am sharing topics that I know many people want to know about and understand how they all co-exist in my world. More importantly, I want my audience to be inspired and feel confident that they are not alone in their journey.

  10. More concerts and theater - I thoroughly enjoy going to concerts and watching live productions. I really appreciate the amount of energy and effort that go into these productions and I admire how creative these individuals are.

This list doesn’t have a deadline of December 31st, they are simply Do Better and Do More action items. My goal is to simply do more of these actions items... more than I did last year. As I dig deeper into these goals, I set a date to accomplish them. Some are as soon as a week! What do you have on your shortlist of goals or resolutions? Knock them out and be proud of what you have accomplished! Don't give up on those resolutions and goals, you got this mama and all those dirty diapers you have to change and the dinner you have to cook at a reasonable hour. LOL!

Text me if you need encouragement or have a question! (561) THE - MRS2
